We have gathered a list of our most popular questions for quick and easy access to all you need to know about your Paphos mountain bike hire experience!

Where is Paphos MTB Hire?

Our main station is located at Aliathon Resort in the Kato Paphos area.

What should I bring with me?
  • Hydration pack with minimum 2-liter fluid capacity and additional pockets for essentials (snacks, phone, camera, suncream)
  • Energy bars and Electrolytes (electrolyte tablets or powder drinks supplement)
  • Cycling shorts with a quality chamois (padding)
  • Cycling jerseys
  • Lightweight waterproof jacket (winter months)
  • Sunglasses/eye protection
  • Sunscreen (30-50 SPF)
  • Insect repellent (summer months)
  • Bike Gloves
  • Cleated shoes and pedals (if you prefer to use your own).

Can I bring my own bike?

If you prefer the familiarity of your own bike, you may of course bring it along. We ride mainly on hard pack surface with loose gravel & down hill rocky technical section. We would recommend full suspension Trail type bike. Please make sure a proper servicing is done before the trip and carry along all necessary parts/equipments your bike requires.

Any clients bringing their own bike should ensure they have adequate cover for loss, damage or theft under their travel, home contents or a specialist insurance policy. We will take all reasonable care to ensure the safety of your bike, in the rare event of loss, damage or theft you will need to claim under your own insurance policy.

What about extras?

You may like to bring your own pedals and saddle if it is your preference, however, please note that you are responsible for your own equipment, and removing your saddle/pedals at the end of the trip. We cannot guarantee the return of any bike parts left behind.

Padded cycling shorts, breathable clothing, and a lightweight waterproof/windproof top for the winter months.

Do I have to wear a helmet?

All riders are required by law to wear a helmet. One is provided with your rental.

Do I have to have lights?

State law requires cyclists to have front and rear lights when riding at night. We'll provide you with both as part of your rental.

Do I need experience?

Cycling of all kinds has its dangers and accidents can happen from time to time. Please ensure that you are properly prepared for the riding you are going to undertake, with a good level of fitness and off road cross-county riding experience is essential. Riding with confidence on hard pack loose gravel with down hill technical sections (our tours are not for the novice rider, and over 18 only)

Travel insurance is essential, with additional cover for Mountain Biking for five days or more, for cross-county riding, on off road tracks that are non-specific mtb trails.

What do I do with the bike overnight?

Bikes like to sleep indoors, just like people. If you're staying in a hotel, check with the bellhop, concierge, or reception to find out if you can take your bike to your room or if they want to keep it in their luggage room. Keeping the bike indoors overnight is the best way to avoid potential damage or theft.

How can I extend the 24 hrs rental period?

Just keep cycling! You pay your rent on return, so you can keep the bike until you are done with it, unless you have decided to extend for longer than a week. By the way: long-term renters get a better rate.

Do you give a reduction on large groups or for longterm rentals?

Yes, we do. Groups of 10 persons get a 20% reduction when they pay all together. For longer periods than 2 weeks we offer special rates. Please contact us for details.

Who is responsible if the bike is stolen or damaged?

You are. We'll provide you the tools and knowledge needed to keep the bike safe but it's up to you to return everything we give you.

Do you offer insurance?

Unfortunately, bike insurance is not available in Cyprus.

Do you deliver or pick up bikes?

Yes, but please call ahead of time to verify our availability! We can deliver or pick up anywhere within Paphos area for an additional fee.
